Engagement ring--
loose-leaf lovers
not yet bound,
but could be
easily removed
or replaced.
Wedding ring--
metal clasps hold
horizontal rules
wedlocked,
but perforated
at the margins.
Suffering--
the only thing
binding
is a thin sheet
of paper
stained with ink.
Where Nature Always Sings
I don’t long for riches, for gold or fancy things,
I just want country life where nature always sings.
I feel the need to camp close to a winding stream,
where evenings at sunset, I can relax and dream.
Scenic open spaces with clear skies overhead,
cool nights in the forest, pine needles for a bed—
I don’t want the city where horrid clamor rings,
I just want country life where nature always sings.

Her mastery of wordsmithing is apparent and It’s a emotional roller coaster of humor, sadness and just day to day emotional awareness. The writer has allowed us the reader, to glimpse into her soul on that particular day when she brought her words to paper, that is a rarity.I cant recommend this book enough.
